Typically, all exhibits and seminars respond to best practices, effective strategies, successful programs, or research in the following content areas:

  • College and Career Readiness 
  • Out of School Time Programs 
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Special Education  
  • Children's Health and Wellness

10:00       Registration and expo hall opens                 

10:30       20 minute seminars run all day      

  3:00       Parents Call to Action!

Seminars

Session themes and topics are developed from ideas and suggestions that parents share during a series of parent focus groups, held in the spring.

Expo Hall

Vendors representing various area afterschool programs, adult education programs, universities, and health programs are available to answer questions and to enroll students on site.

Family Entertainment and Children's Pavilion 

Families can sing and dance together with local artists, or hear a story read by an area book author.   In the Children’s Pavilion, families can engage in hands-on learning activities, get on a fire truck, or run through an obstacle course.

Free Childcare

Free childcare is provided by certified childcare professionals. It is avaliable to all parents with children between 3-10 years old.

Farmer's Market

UDC’s Farmers’ Market provides fresh food and fresh ideas to help District residents improve their quality of life.  The market has an array of selections to choose from including fresh produce, flowers, fresh baked artisan breads and more.
